Forest Bathing Options

What to expect.

You will be guided through a series of activities. You may share your experiences or simply listen to the others in our small group.
You may also participate in a deck of oracle like cards that are forest and nature inspired.

What’s Included

Depending on which experience you choose, it’s a 60-90 minute outing.

A blank page journal to sketch or write down any thoughts, inspirations or save a flower or leaf that caught your eye.

What to bring

Dress for the appropriate weather.
Layers are always a good idea.
Bring a blanket, cushion or may if you would like for your sit spot.
We may do a barefoot grounding activity. If you would like to try that, a small towel to wipe and dry off feet before they go back into your socks.

Soul Portraits

A portrait that can never be duplicated.

At the end of your Moss & Mori experience, you’ll have the option to have a Soul Portrait created of you. It's an original piece of photographic art made entirely in camera at the time of capture.

Using natural elements, I layer you with the surrounding landscape and its details to create something completely unique. No filters. No Photoshop composites.

Each portrait is shaped organically by a one-of-a-kind combination of light, time of day, season, natural conditions, and a little serendipity. These fleeting elements come together for just one moment, creating something that can never be recreated exactly the same way.

More than a photograph, it’s an original piece of art capturing how it felt to be there.

Guests who preorder a portrait will be photographed immediately following the guided experience. Please allow approximately 10–30 additional minutes, depending on how many in your group have added on a portrait.

Meet Stephanie

Founder of Moss & Mori | Certified Forest Bathing Guide

For more than 25 years, the forests of Vermont have been my sanctuary. Long before I understood the practice of forest bathing, I was finding my own way toward healing simply by spending time among the trees.

What began as a love of the woods gradually became something much deeper.

I've spent countless days and nights camping, exploring woodland trails, and immersing myself in the natural world. Whether waking to the sounds of the forest, sitting quietly beneath the trees, or simply enjoying the stillness of the woods, being surrounded by nature has always been where I feel most at peace.

Living with PTSD, I've come to understand how profoundly our surroundings can affect the way we feel. In the forest, I've found a place where I can slow down, quiet my mind, breathe a little deeper, and simply be. The sounds of the trees, the scent of the earth, the feeling of sunlight filtering through the canopy. These simple moments have helped me find a sense of peace and grounding that can be difficult to find in everyday life.

Over the past several years, my curiosity about the natural world has grown into a deeper exploration of the relationship between nature and well being. I've spent time learning about plants, trees, flower essences, and the ways we can reconnect with ourselves through the natural world.

Eventually, I realized that what I had been doing intuitively for decades was a practice with a name: forest bathing.

That realization inspired me to become a certified Forest Bathing Guide and create Moss & Mori.

After more than 30 years as a professional photographer, I've spent much of my life observing the world through light, texture, color, and emotion. Photography taught me to notice the little things that others might pass by. Forest bathing allows me to bring that same sense of observation into a different kind of experience, inviting others to connect with nature through all of their senses.

My hope is to share what has meant so much to me with others. Not through strenuous hikes or complicated practices, but through gentle, intentional moments of connection with the natural world.

I believe that sometimes we need to step away from the noise of everyday life, slow down, and allow ourselves to experience the world around us in a different way.

The forest has given me a place to find stillness, reconnect with myself, and feel grounded again.

Now, I'd love to help you discover what it might offer you.
